Just quickly.... the recent images are more of a collage of things I have photographed along my trip in South Africa. There has been so much to see there, looking back I feel I still didn't catch everything my mind did - and vice versa... For me these photographs are really all about the smaller things I found there that ceased to amaze me. For me they are things that made that trip.

The next few posts will continue the theme of these smaller things in the colours of red, orange and blue. Most of these images are done in macro which is also another secret passion of mine especially right now because I find my work has moved back into examining textures.

After a recent one month trip back to South Africa I have got back on track and accumulated many images of the different places I visited in the homeland. It was the first time to endeavour with digital colour photography and so the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing some of the little things, colourful things and patterened things I captured.

From Johannesburg, Warmbaths, Tsitsikamma, Plettenburg Bay, Knysna and many many MANY other places (including Kap Stad) - I realized there are smaller things to a bigger country.

It has been a while since I have taken any pictures and also added any pictures here, but I assure you there will be some to come soon.

November 2009 I was in South Africa for 2 weeks and had the privilege of seeing many animals up close (like before) but the best part was taking a whole roll of film worth of the wild dogs currently residing at De Wildt Cheetah Sanctuary just north of Pretoria/Johannesburg.

So, some beautiful animals and some enrapturing landscapes to come...

In April this year, I had the fantastic opportunity to photograph kids of all ages performing The Inside Story for Colour My World's annual performance. This year it was held at the McAulay theatre (Wan Chai), where the challenge of photographing in black and white, no flash and severely minimal lighting became the most inspiring portrait/people photography I have done yet. And I must admit that theatrical photography is something I want to further explore!
